I’m Douglas Oliveira, a Brazilian, 28 years old, and I’ve been involved in social impact projects since my 16th, because I believe that everyone can help change the world for the better. The EVS project that I did was related to the Olympic Legacy and I developed sports activities in a public school and in a football academy and I had work in administrative and financial activities as well.
The journey was long and had a lot of difficult times, but I really like to remember the moments when I arrived at Woodthorpe school and the students came lively for the activities and calling me by name, even with the difficulty in communicating in English I felt the job was being well done and making the kids happy.
Professionally the experience brought me a great evolution in the English language, besides having developed much my knowledge in the area of financial reports and didactic knowledge with children. For my personal life I will carry the learning with the cultural differences and the respect and education of the British people.
Without any doubts, EVS transforms the life of any person, the lived experiences and learning shows us another way t see the World, I strongly recommend to everyone that has this chance, I can only say thanks everybody involved in this process, Fundação Gol de Letra, Everything Is Possible, Manor School and i2i, thank you very much for changing my life.

Sou Douglas Oliveira, brasileiro, 28 anos de idade e sou envolvido com projetos de impacto social desde meus 16, pois acredito que a todo mundo pode ajudar a mudar o Mundo para melhor. O projeto de EVS que fiz parte foi relacionado ao Legado Olímpico e desenvolvia atividades de esporte em uma escola pública e em uma academia de Futebol , com desenvolver do projeto também realizei atividades administrativas e financeiras.
A jornada foi longa e cheia de momentos difíceis, mas gosto muito de me lembrar dos momentos em que eu chegava à escola Woodthorpe e os alunos vinham animados para as atividades e me chamando pelo nome, mesmo com a dificuldade na comunicação em inglês sentia o trabalho estava sendo bem feito e deixando as crianças felizes.
Profissionalmente a experiência me trouxe uma grande evolução na língua inglesa, alem de ter desenvolvido muito meus conhecimentos na área de prestação de contas e conhecimentos de didática com crianças. Pra minha vida pessoal vou carregar o aprendizado com as diferenças culturais e o respeito e educação dos Britânicos.
Sem duvida alguma ser um EVS transforma a vida de qualquer pessoa, os aprendizados e experiências vividas nos mostra uma outra forma de olhar o Mundo, recomendo fortemente a todos que tem essa chance, só posso agradecer a todo os envolvidos nesse processo Fundação Gol de Letra, Everything Is Possible, Manor School e i2i, obrigado por mudarem minha vida.
